Our Story

When our son Jack was born with Down syndrome, we found out we had a lot to learn. Not just about the best way to nuture our child so he would grow up as healthy as possible, but about the whole world of special needs. One thing we learned, children born in some countries who have special needs generally don't go home with their mom & dad. They go to baby orphanages. We have decided to adopt one of these little angels, a beautiful girl with Down syndrome. We found our new daughter through an organization called Reece's Rainbow. They advocate for these little ones, trying to get them into the arms of their forever families. Please go visit. There is a button on the left. These children will touch your heart.

Coffee cuff!!

016

My awesome friend Kari made and sold these ADORABLE coffee cuffs as a fundraiser for their adoption.  We shared a super frustrating day with Kari, husband Tom, and their 2 new kiddos Victor and super adorable Sosie in Kiev – did I mention it?  Hm, I’ll check on that.  Do you see what is on them??  They’re in felt with an outline of Ukraine!  So of course I had to have one and bless Kari, she sent one for M too. :)  Finally I remembered to take a pic when M and I (and her friend Sarah) went to QT tonight so I could show them off.  If you want one, go see her; she may have more!

And, I got your e-mail the other day! Sorry I haven't replied, but it's been CRAZY. I am so glad you got the cuffs and that Madelyn was so happy to have one! She is an awesome girl, and I'd love to have a daughter like her!!!

I met a little 2 year-old girl with DS today in a baby signs class, and she reminded me of Dashlyn!!
