How do you get used to posting every day? I hope to, especially when we travel. Sometimes I get idea after idea, but they don't translate to thoughts that I can type into the blog.
I'm getting anxious for travel. We're going somewhere waaaaaaay out of my comfort zone. I'm happy here in my little corner of the world. I have no problem getting my van that I LOVE and diving across country. Highways are familiar, there's a McDonald's every few yards, I can use my cute pink cell phone to call anyone I love from anywhere. But traveling across the ocean? To a place they don't speak my language? Where I'll have no access to anyone that's familiar? Wow - scary. That's how I know God must have put this adoption on my heart. Only the gift of love for a little girl I've never laid eyes on would this be happening.
I'm making packing lists. I'm making a list of questions for a friend who has been where we're going, and maybe she can help me feel a little more comfortable with the trip. I'm worrying about the money we have yet to find. I'm trying to think of toys to take that Dashlyn might like. I'm deciding what movies and books and photos to take. I need to buy and set up a camera for our computer so we can skype with the kids while we're gone. Selfishly, I'm looking forward to having my husband all to myself for a few weeks. No work, kids, or household chores. Maybe we can actually start and finish a conversation! Mostly of course though, I can't wait to see and touch a little blond girl I've only seen in few photos and my dreams. :)

I'm so excited for you! You get used to posting a lot, because you have a lot of down time, since you don't have kids to take care of & not a lot of housework. It was a lovely vacation with a wonderful reward!
ReplyDeleteThere's a little musical Baby Einstein toy in the baby department at Target I wish I'd brought for Lil (even though it's for younger kids) - she loves musical toys!
What toy was it Michelle? I bought a little musical toy that's baby Einstein. The handle is the little smiley worm and plays 3 (I think) tunes. It's cute, just may not be appropriate for a 10 hr plane ride home! (It may have to ride in a checked bag!)
ReplyDeleteJulie I think we are in the same boat now that our dossier in complete and sent and recieved I have a whole new list of worries! Infact the other day it hit me that I wont be able to call my Mom with questions if I have any, Fred and I are new parents so I have ALOT of new Mommy questions and to be that far away from my support system is freakin me out! I think God will be using this experence to help me to depend on my Husband! Have you decided how your traveling? Are you takin two trips? One long trip together? One trip but one ofyou will leave after court? Please know that your not alone someone in Wisconsin is feeling as fazzled as you!!!
ReplyDeleteI had all those same worries too... There is so much to do, and so much to figure out. But, good news, there are Mc D's on every corner here too, lol. You will be fine, and holding your baby girl will make all that tough stuff disappear.
ReplyDeleteThere is a McDonalds in the city you are going. It is next to the train station. We never went there!! The first day we sprinted off the train and never looked back.
ReplyDeleteYou will find a routine while you are there. For me it was visit, home, nap, visit, home, blog, bed. It was so hot I didn't get to do much siteseeing. I would have loved to visit the sea for a day, but I didn't want to give up any visits.
