Our Story

When our son Jack was born with Down syndrome, we found out we had a lot to learn. Not just about the best way to nuture our child so he would grow up as healthy as possible, but about the whole world of special needs. One thing we learned, children born in some countries who have special needs generally don't go home with their mom & dad. They go to baby orphanages. We have decided to adopt one of these little angels, a beautiful girl with Down syndrome. We found our new daughter through an organization called Reece's Rainbow. They advocate for these little ones, trying to get them into the arms of their forever families. Please go visit. There is a button on the left. These children will touch your heart.

My head is spinning!

So I was kinda sad about our picnic, and having a bit of a pity party this week. I decided today that I better snap out of it, and even had some encouragement in the form of a lovely e-mail from a new friend (Hi Summer!). So I came to Dashlyn's pretty pink blog to write a new post. The first thing I noticed was our chip-in expired :(. So I decided to try to figure out how to do a new one all by myself (blog guru was instrumental in the creation of the last one). In looking over the old one, I got quite a shock - someone donated a VERY generous amount of money into her account! In learning about how to create a new chip-in, I found out how to see who donated (I thought that info only went to the account the money went to, which would be D's Reece's Rainbow account, which I am not in charge of so that the donations are tax deductible.) So now that I know how to see this info, I can thank you all personally! And I can thank you here in public too!!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

  2. Yes.....matching outfits are a must!! They will be sisters from afar. I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty of printing up one of the pictures of Dasha to add to Ella's wall. I got the one of Jack and Braska (so cute) but just had to include Dasha as well. And by the way....how awesome about this anonymous donation. God is great!!!
