Our Story

When our son Jack was born with Down syndrome, we found out we had a lot to learn. Not just about the best way to nuture our child so he would grow up as healthy as possible, but about the whole world of special needs. One thing we learned, children born in some countries who have special needs generally don't go home with their mom & dad. They go to baby orphanages. We have decided to adopt one of these little angels, a beautiful girl with Down syndrome. We found our new daughter through an organization called Reece's Rainbow. They advocate for these little ones, trying to get them into the arms of their forever families. Please go visit. There is a button on the left. These children will touch your heart.

It's been a busy few days!

Let's see, we got a bunch of stuff notarized and approved by our RR team, so they are all ready for the dossier. A few we have to have re-done (those DARN medicals!) but that's no surprise and we can do that. We had a few more forms to get finished, which I'm almost done there too. That leaves about 4 forms to be re-done or approved, along with dum-dum-dadum (uh, that was a trumpet sounding) our homestudy! The final copy leaped into my arms this afternoon and was immediately faxed off for approval. Please, please pray it's okay. Finally, things are happening! We can send it off after approval and get that pesky federal fingerprint appt. After that we can send off the dossier! Oh my gosh, I'm gonna be able to see my girl!

Our next fundraiser, a picnic/potluck will be held a week from this Sun, and I'm hoping for a good turn-out and decent weather for that. I still haven't finished cleaning up from the garage sale (sorry RK) and every time we plan on that, it rains or someone needs something. I'm planning to get to that very soon.
