Our Story

When our son Jack was born with Down syndrome, we found out we had a lot to learn. Not just about the best way to nuture our child so he would grow up as healthy as possible, but about the whole world of special needs. One thing we learned, children born in some countries who have special needs generally don't go home with their mom & dad. They go to baby orphanages. We have decided to adopt one of these little angels, a beautiful girl with Down syndrome. We found our new daughter through an organization called Reece's Rainbow. They advocate for these little ones, trying to get them into the arms of their forever families. Please go visit. There is a button on the left. These children will touch your heart.

Belated Dasha updates!

On Friday we had Dasha’s re-check for the ENT.  Last time she had a bit of fluid so the Dr. wanted to wait a few weeks and see if it went away.  Surprise, surprise, it did not.  So we will be doing tubes.  Since that is a sedated procedure, the Dr. asked if there was anything else we wanted to do at the same time.  Why, yes!  Miss D’s teeth are kinda scary even though they have improved considerably with regular brushing, but we’re thinking a sedated cleaning might be an awesome way to go.  We’ll be checking in with the dentist on Wed and will probably schedule something for teeth and ears after that.  I’m hoping her permanent teeth come in waaaaay more straight but for now, not many cavities would be awesome!

In other news, guess who started school on Thurs??  Dashlyn will go to pre-pre-pre school for 2 hours every Thurs.  Jack went to this class as well before he started the schedule he’s on now.  We like the teacher and I’m sure D will do great.  After all it isn’t separation issues we have to worry about with her.  I stayed this first time but next week she’ll be all on her own.  I have a couple of pics but they’re on my phone because of course, I forgot to take the camera so I’ll get those downloaded soon.
