Our Story

When our son Jack was born with Down syndrome, we found out we had a lot to learn. Not just about the best way to nuture our child so he would grow up as healthy as possible, but about the whole world of special needs. One thing we learned, children born in some countries who have special needs generally don't go home with their mom & dad. They go to baby orphanages. We have decided to adopt one of these little angels, a beautiful girl with Down syndrome. We found our new daughter through an organization called Reece's Rainbow. They advocate for these little ones, trying to get them into the arms of their forever families. Please go visit. There is a button on the left. These children will touch your heart.

Adoption Fund Addition

We have some terrific friends that over the past several years (12, I think) have become part of our family. Our youngest kids don't remember not knowing each other. We've celebrated holidays and special occasions together. We've had parties where our 2 families were the only ones in attendance! I love their kids like I love my nieces and nephews. So when we decided to adopt Dashlyn and told them, they were super happy for us and very supportive.

Recently, my little friend Sarah got into sewing. (Little - HAH! She becoming a lovely young lady. Who tells these kids they can grow up anyway??) She came up with a design of her own, making purses into bags; hand bags, totes, and clutches. This past weekend she had a table at a craft fair. Not only did Sarah decide to donate part of her earnings to our adoption fund, but she and her mom Martina decided to create a container that had our story on it so people that attended could donate as well. Sarah brought us $20!!! Can you believe it? Isn't that wonderful?! I have a pic on my phone of her table, but of course, I can't get to it right now. I plan to post that pic plus a few photos of the purses Sarah has made in case anyone is interested in purchasing one! I'll have them up soon!
